The Born area is probably the most beautiful part of Barcelona. The old, narrow streets and little squares make it popular with both tourists and locals alike. It is home to many artists who have converted it into a colourful, bohemian place, and it is one of the best areas to find boutique clothes and jewellery shops. The ‘Paseo del Born’ is lined with restaurants and bars which tempt you stay for a while! Two important sights are the unmissable church of Santa Maria del Mar’, and just around the corner in a converted medieval palace, the famous Picasso museum.
