Barcelona is one of the most touristic cities in the world. The possibilities of what to visit are endless. The city is full of culture, history and art. See my recommendations of major attractions in Barcelona, which you should not miss!
La Ramblas is the most visited street in Barcelona. The typical way is to walk from the Plaza de Catalunya to the Columbus statue. Las Ramblas is full of live, kiosks, flower stores and artist. Is undoubtedly the place which you should visit! If you wish to have more information about Las Ramblas, see the article Las Ramblas in our blog.
If you keep waking from Las Ramblas to the popular shopping street Passeig de Gracia, you won’t miss the Casa Batllo. Casa Batllo was built by Antoni Gaudi and it has become the key element of modernist architecture in Barcelona.
La Pedrera, it’s also located on the Passeig de Gracias street just a few minutes from the Casa Batllo. It’s also known as Casa Mila. It’s popular for its facade designed by Antoni Gaudi as well.
You also should not miss famous Sagrada Familia, also one of the most popular monuments created by Antoni Gaudi. Unfortunately Gaudi had no time to finish this project, because he died in 1926 leaving the Sagrada Familia unfinished. Today, Sagrada Familia is still under constructions, and is built from donations.
If you feel exhausted after the day of sightseeing, I recommend you to visit some bars or restaurants and try the Catalan cuisine while drinking the glass of wine or cold beer. You can also visit the food market La Boqueria which is located in the middle of Las Ramblas and is surrounded by restaurants of all types.
