The current district of Les Corts, the second largest district of the city, has been integrated into Barcelona in 1897. In the past it was a separate town established in the nineteenth century. Some important industrial companies have been set in here and this is the reason of its fast growth and renovation. It is situated below the main artery Diagonal Avenue and is crossed by Travesera de Les Corts, the central street of the district.
Today it is considered as one of the most prestigious areas of Barcelona and is well developed as a residential, commercial and business zone of the city, but without significant tourist attractions outside of football fans because here is the Camp Nou, the largest football ground in Europe. It was built in 1957; this is the home of FC Barcelona and can accommodate 98,000 spectators. It is possible to visit the clubŽs museum and facilities with the guide.
