Not only a top destination for beach-lovers, Barcelona is merely hours away from Andorra, a fantastic location for a quick skiing expedition! The tiny principality of Andorra, situated between France and Spain, has beautiful mountain scenery, is ideal for hiking and has the most inexpensive skiing in the Pyrenees. Aside from its outdoor attractions, Andorra is also famous as a haven for duty free shopping and visitors can expect to pay between 20%-30% less than in Spain or France for electronic goods, cameras, cosmetics and alcohol.

The main ski stations in Andorra are at Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig, Soldeu-Tarter, Arinsal, Pal and Arcalís. There are always gentle slopes available, making these resorts good destinations for families. A one day ski pass costs approximately €40 for adults and €30 for children in high season, and snowboarding as well as skiing is available at most destinations. Weather depending, the ski season begins in December and lasts until the end of March, although many stations prolong the season using snow machines, making a quick jaunt to the slopes possible into the springtime!

Tourism is the main source of income in Andorra, but the natural beauty of its mountains ensures that visitors continue to come once the snow has disappeared. Hiking trips are very popular here, as are horse riding, mountain biking, rock climbing and trout fishing. One of the best starting points for hiking is Arinsal; you can begin many treks from here without needing to drive somewhere first.

Those less interested in outdoor activities can still enjoy a trip to Andorra as it is renowned for being a shopper’s paradise! Despite its currency being the Euro, Andorra is not considered a full member of the EU and therefore enjoys tax-free status, meaning many of its goods are up to 30% cheaper than in nearby Spain or France. The emphasis tends to be on luxury rather than consumer goods and Žthe shopping streetŽ, in Andorra La Vella (the capital) offers electrical items, leather goods, alcohol and perfume for sale as far as the eye can see! There are also large commercial centres located all over the principality so it is not necessary to stock up on goods in the capital.

Finally, visitors worn out from skiing or shopping or just wanting to relax can make their way toCaldea, Europe's largest health spa. Located in the mountains, guests can enjoy 6000m2 of interior and exterior lagoons, baths, Jacuzzis, saunas and a great deal more. Providing every health and beauty treatment available, it is relaxation heaven!

Special family tickets available.

Please note: the main part of Caldea has a capacity of 500 people, Club Caldea has a capacity of 30 people. Advance booking, especially for Club Caldea is essential!
