Renovated in 2005, Barcelona“s Science Museum is considered one of the finest in Europe and its exhibits are particularly aimed at making science fun and accessible for children. It has many unique attractions, including a 90 ton interactive Geological Wall which traces the geological foundations of the Earth.
There is also the only recreation of a Brazilian Flooded Forest in Europe, a 1000m2 reproduction of Amazonian rainforest! All aspects are there to be explored, from life under the water to its relationship with firm ground, and there are over 100 living species of plants and animals to discover there including poisonous tree frogs, caiman crocodiles and anacondas. From life on earth to the skies above, the Planetarium offers the opportunity to admire the Universe! A fascinating experience for visitors of all ages, it is a journey through space and time, where you can observe the Universe from different eras and perspectives.
For the smallest visitors there is also the Planetarium Bubble which is especially designed to awaken curiosity about the world in the very young, teaching them about planets and constellations in a fun way. Other attractions at CosmoCaixa include the Hall of Matter, the Click and Flash rooms for discovering science through games, and the Touch! room where you can get close to creatures and learn to respect them in their own habitats.
