One of the largest theme parks in Europe, PortAventura is a top destination for families and thrill-seekers alike. It is located approximately 1 hour south of Barcelona on the Costa Dorada and accessible from the city by rail, bus or car. The park is divided into 5 fantastic lands to discover, so visitors can experience the mysteries of ancient China, explore Aztec Mexico, enjoy the Wild West and much more. There are rides suitable for visitors of all ages, from small children who will be delighted to meet Woody the Woodpecker and friends, to older theme park fans ready for an adrenaline rush. The park’s ´Dragon Khan´ rollercoaster is the biggest in Europe and one of the only rides in the world to boast 8 upside-down loops! The park also puts on some spectacular shows, so there really is something for all visitors, both young and old.
Also situated at PortAventura is the Caribe Aquatic Park, an enormous waterslide park that can be enjoyed all year round! The park is filled with slides, toboggan rides, wave machines, a ´Caribbean´ beach to sunbathe on, and plenty of pools for small children to splash about in. There is also a special ´Gran Caribe´ section, a huge covered area with pools and slides that can be enjoyed in tropical temperatures, even when it’s cold outside!
