The blue tram service has been climbing 4000ft up Avenida Tibidabo since 1902 and must surely be the loveliest way to begin the climb up Tibidabo mountain.Originally part of a larger tram network running throughout the city, the other routes closed down and are only now slowly being replaced by modern versions, whereas the Blue Trams happily survived. They are the oldest running trams in Spain and are fondly admired by the people of Barcelona for being unique to the city, a method of transport with a truly historical feel.The trams run daily during the summer, and then at Easter, Christmas, and winter weekends. They leave from the FGC Av. Tibidabo station at Plaza Kennedy and terminate at Plaça Dr Andreu where you can catch the funicular railway to finish the journey up to the summit of Tibidabo.

The blue trams run from 10am-6.05pm (end of June-beginning Sept from 10am-8.05pm) Price: €2.20 single, €3.30 return.

When the tram line is closed (weekdays during winter when the TibidaboAmusement Park is closed) a bus covers the same route.
