The next beach on from Nova Icaria is Bogatell, a longer stretch of sand than the previous beach but narrower with a slightly rougher sea.The chiringuitos here are frequented by Barcelona´s beautiful people and the city’s international residents.

Generally less crowded than the beaches closer to the centre of the city, there is enough space for that bat and ball game eternally popular on European beaches, and there are also ping pong tables on the breakwater closest to the Olympic Port. Rambla del Poblenou is behind the beach; a lovely tree-lined rambla with plenty of places to have a long lunch whilst hiding from the midday sun, or dinner after a day’s dedicated sunbathing.
