Originally created in 1929 for Barcelona´s second Universal Exhibition, the Magic Fountain is a firm favourite with residents and visitors alike.Still using the original art deco waterworks and over 4.500 light bulbs, it is a spectacular amalgamation of light, water and music, creating a lively display that is enjoyed by the young and old alike!.
The enormous main fountain is in front of the Palau Nacional (MNAC) on Montjuic and much like an aquatic fireworks display (accompanied by many smaller fountains running down Avenida Maria Christina), it changes shape and colour in time to a selection of familiar classical and pop hits.
