A museum dedicated entirely to the subject of chocolate, founded by the Barcelona Confectionary Guild. You will find both history and entertainment here, with exhibits that take you from the discovery of the cocoa bean by New World explorers up until the modern day commercial chocolate industry. Situated in the heart of El Born, it is a convenient excursion whilst walking around the gothic quarter.

Chocolate as an art form is also presented, with impressive displays of sculpture on a large and small scale. These include a huge chariot with four horses, a formula 1 racing car, and FC Barcelona´s Ronaldiño. The highlights are chocolate recreations of Antoni Gaudi´s Casa Batllo and Casa Mila.

The museum runs events during the week and at weekends. These include hands-on workshops for children, who can try their hand at making confectionery, and historical learning based on games and role-playing. Space can be booked for birthday celebrations too.

Finally, there is a gift shop selling all sorts of chocolate treats, that few people will leave empty-handed.
